The first edition of Mondo Arc India has been published in March 2015, the launch event in Mumbai attracting over 400 designers and architects. DHA Designs were delighted to be included in this first edition, featuring an interview with Peter Fordham.
DHA Designs will be attending Istanbul Light between 16 – 18 April. Peter Fordham will be speaking at the Designers With Light Forum at 10.30am on Friday, focusing on our recent award-winning work with Haworth Tompkins Architects at The Everyman Theatre, Liverpool.
DHA Designs director, Peter Fordham, was invited to speak at the Light Middle East conference, being held in Dubai from 3rd-5th November 2015.
Peter was invited to give a presentation, titled Reducing light in the public realm with design intent and adding lighting quality. The presentation was given to an audience of some of the leading figures in lighting from across the Middle East, including lighting designers active in the area, specialist lighting contractors & lighting manufacturers supplying to these countries.
Light Middle East has been running for nine years now, and is the premier event for our industry across the region, and attracts more than 325 companies who are working to develop the lighting industries in one of the world’s great regions of growth.
The London Duathlon takes place on Sunday 15 September in Richmond Park. The ‘classic’ race consists of a 10km run, 40km bike ride and a 5km run. Peter has signed up for the challenge, along with a few Dads from his local area, and will be raising funds for a local children’s hospice in SE London and Kent called Demelza.

Earlier this month, we carried out a lighting test on a section of the new facade screen for the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool. Designed by Haworth Tompkins Architects, the screen consists of laser cut metal panels with photographic images of members of the public. The new building has over a hundred panels. Staff members will be able to rotate the panels from inside the theatre offices, depending on sun shading requirement. We tested a section of four panels, floodlit from above using a 1200mm linear LED wallwasher from our friends at Ecosense. With a 60 x 10 degree optic, the distribution was perfect. The new theatre will open in 2013.
Snowbound in London maybe, but we’re all still here, despite the cold. I was in Amman, Jordan, earlier this week, presenting a schematic design for an exterior project (and enjoying a pleasant 26C). We have two projects commissioning in London this week: the Tsui Gallery at the V&A Museum and Climate Science at the Science Museum…
We have recently added another page to our website: Where We Do It. Each of our projects has been grouped into regions, and then countries, to allow you find examples of our work across the world more easily. Expect to see a few tweaks to the map over the next few days as we get used to the new look …
You may have noticed the change to our site. We have changed the news section to a blog, to allow us to post updates quickly and more simply. From idea to fully functioning blog took around an hour or two – thanks to our web wrangler, Neil at CDN Solutions.
