Interior - Latymer Upper School Music Building interior, London

DHA Designs worked with architects van Heyningan & Haward on the interior lighting for the new music building at Latymer Upper School in Ravenscourt Park, West London.

The scope of work included the three storey glazed foyer and the house lighting for the main recital room. 600 x 600mm surface mounted feature fluorescent luminaires provide the ambient light in the foyer, floating just below the exposed concrete or plasterboard ceilings. The fittings are supplied with different colours of backlight filters for each floor, creating an accent of coloured light on the ceilings. The fittings are dimmable and are controlled by day using photocells to compensate changing levels of natural light in the foyer.

Special features include uplighting the glass staircase between the ground and first floor with coloured LED inground uplights, and a back-lit bar counter using manually controlled LED linear strips.
