Earlier this month, we carried out a lighting test on a section of the new facade screen for the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool. Designed by Haworth Tompkins Architects, the screen consists of laser cut metal panels with photographic images of members of the public. The new building has over a hundred panels. Staff members will be able to rotate the panels from inside the theatre offices, depending on sun shading requirement. We tested a section of four panels, floodlit from above using a 1200mm linear LED wallwasher from our friends at Ecosense. With a 60 x 10 degree optic, the distribution was perfect. The new theatre will open in 2013.
