Nero: The Man Behind the Myth at British Museum

The British Museum’s latest major exhibition, Nero: The Man Behind the Myth recently opened to great response in the press. The major reviews were gathered together by The Week, and they show just how fantastically well the exhibition has been received: the show has been described as a ‘wonderfully evocative exhibition’ which makes ‘history feel vividly alive’ (The Times), whereas the Telegraph also called it ‘evocative’ but when on to describe the overall experience as ‘wildly exciting’ & a ‘provocative, brilliant polemic’

DHA worked closely with Drinkall Dean and Lombaert Studio to create a theatrical setting for this showman of the Roman world, including the use light projections, gobo textures and animated light sequences, with all objects beautifully and carefully lit.

Tantra Exhibition at The British Museum

DHA have recently completed work on the British Museum’s latest exhibition – Tantra: enlightenment to revolution.

The show explores ‘the radical force that transformed the religious, cultural and political landscape of India and beyond’.

It is open from 24th September 2020 – 24th January 2021.

Celts at the British Museum opens to 5-star reviews

crossAfter lighting Ming: 50 Years that Changed China in the new 70m long Special Exhibitions Gallery, DHA Designs were delighted to be asked by the BM to light this autumn’s blockbuster exhibition.  Designed by Real Studios, with graphics by the BM, DHA worked closely with the team and curators to light the hundreds of objects on display.  These varied from tiny jewellery and coins to huge crosses and sculptures.

The exhibition received 5-stars from Jonathan Jones in The Guardian and tickets can be booked from the British Museum via their website here

 

Hajj: Journey to the Heart of Islam, British Museum

dha designs have just completed British Museum’s landmark 2012 exhibition on the Hajj. The exhibition explains the history of this deeply personal journey, using textiles, manuscripts, historical and contemporary art. The exhibition is in the stunning Round Reading Room and is a thoughtful and beautiful evocation of this pillar of Islam.

The exhibition was described in The Guardian, in Jonathan Jones’ 5-star review, as “one of the most brilliant exhibitions the BM has put on”.
