Temporary Galleries - V&A – David Bowie Is…
DHA Designs were delighted to use their theatrical backgrounds to bring this amazing collection to life. Drawing from the David Bowie Archive, the V&A put together a wonderful collection of costume, images and memorabilia. Working with 59 Productions and Real Studios, DHA had to design a theatrical solution, including a show, within a conservation-grade environment.
Using their own rock-show lighting experience from the 1970s and 1980s, DHA Designs were able to recreate the types of effects but using modern-day technology, whilst preserving the collection. The exhibition was fantastically well-received, with over 300,000 visitors to the V&A in only 4 months, making it their second most visited exhibition ever (after Art Deco).
