Permanent Galleries - Riverside Museum Glasgow

Exhibition designers, Event Communications, appointed DHA Designs as their lighting designer in 2006.  The building (designed by Zaha Hadid Architects) would come with a prescribed level of ambient light – large windows, and an elegantly simple cold cathode scheme (designed by Inverse Lighting).  The equipment needed to be low energy and low maintenance.

The brief was to design a display lighting system, predominantly ground mounted, that would provide suitable highlights and contrast to the exhibits and collections. DHA Designs also designed a flexible showcase lighting system, and a number of key attractions, large scale interactives with kinetic lighting.

The Riverside Museum has won many awards, including European Museum of the Year 2013.  It was shortlisted for a Lighting Design Award, but was beaten by another DHA Designs scheme for the Atmosphere Gallery.
