DHA Designs have designed the lighting for IKEA’s new museum in Älmhult, Sweden.
Running from 2014 we worked with museum designers RAA and architects Wilkinson Eyre, and then directly for IKEA, completing the job in Spring 2016.
By using a combination of Erco, Concord and some fine led extrusions from Lightworks.
In April we commissioned the new E
PIC museum at the CHQ Building in Dublin.
This new museum, set inside 200 year old customs vaults beside the river Liffey in Dublin, EPIC tells the story of the Irish Diaspora.
It was designed by Event, with a/v by GE&Co and Elbow and sound by Peter Key. Lighting support was by High Res in Dublin.
After lighting Ming: 50 Years that Changed China in the new 70m long Special Exhibitions Gallery, DHA Designs were delighted to be asked by the BM to light this autumn’s blockbuster exhibition. Designed by Real Studios, with graphics by the BM, DHA worked closely with the team and curators to light the hundreds of objects on display. These varied from tiny jewellery and coins to huge crosses and sculptures.

DHA followed up their successful collaboration with the V&A Fashion and Textiles dept on Savage Beauty, with the lighting of the Shoes exhibition. Showcasing over 250 pairs of shoes from over 2000 years, the exhibition includes shoes from all over the globe.

A Designs is pleased to be involved in the latest exhibition in the Science Museum’s Antenna Gallery. This exhibition explores the effect that food can have on you, and how sight, touch and smell can influence our appetite and cravings.
We are pleased to be working with the Science Museum again in this space after the successful 3D Printing exhibition, and this exhibition includes live experiments as well as an interactive game – Craving Commander.
